Updated Model COVID-19 Prevention Plan Template Now Available!
July 26, 2021
If you as a California employer have been keeping up with the latest news regarding instructions on how to re-open your workplace safely in the midst of the challenges of the ongoing pandemic, you likely already have a COVID-19 prevention program in place. Perhaps you have even visited the Cal/OSHA website to access the model template.
As promised, on June 29, 2021, Cal/OSHA published its most updated template to mirror its latest changes to the COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards. Employers can find the revised model template on Cal/OSHA’s website at https://www.dir.ca.gov/dosh/dosh_publications/CPP.doc. It is highly recommended that employers use this model which includes the following essential topics: authority and responsibility, identification and evaluation of COVID-19 hazards, correction and control of COVID-19 hazards, investigating and responding to COVID-19 cases, system for communicating, training and instruction, exclusion of COVID-19 cases and employees who had a close contact, reporting, recordkeeping and access, and return-to-work criteria.
In addition, employers can find four appendices addressing identification of COVID-19 hazards, COVID-19 inspections, investigating COVID-19 cases, and COVID-19 training rosters and four additional sections which deal with outbreaks and employer-provided housing and transportation.
