Associate Attorney

Target Start Date: As soon as possible

Our law firm has a full-time associate attorney position available now and we’re looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced partners and associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. Experience in labor and employment law is strongly preferred, but candidates with significant litigation experience or a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law will be considered. Candidates must have at least two years of employment law and/or civil litigation experience.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently

  • Drafting employment documents
  • Drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery
  • Researching state, federal, and administrative law
  • Appearing for hearings and conferences before state and federal courts and administrative agencies (DFEH, EEOC, ALRB, DLSE, Cal/OSHA)
  • Drafting and arguing motions including motions for summary judgment
  • Taking and defending depositions

Qualifications
  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients

  • Have excellent academic credentials
  • Have strong writing and analytical skills
  • Be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
  • At least two years of civil litigation and/or employment law experience
  • Class action and PAGA experience are a plus!

Compensation$110,000 - $180,000
